FISCO or the Friends of Indian Senior Citizens Organization, seeks to bring together and assist elders in the South Asian community. We offer support and friendship to elders who have already sacrificed a huge part of their lives to nurture their families.
We accomplish this in several different ways with the help of volunteers and supporters. They organize popular events in our calendar such as the Weekly Meditation Workshop and Hot Lunch offered every Wednesday at Burlington Senior Center. Our seniors gather together to relax and bond with each other while enjoying a nutritious vegetarian meal provided by some of the most well-known local Indian restaurants.
So far, we have been supported by volunteers, donors and social work agencies in the northwestern suburbs of Boston, but we wish to expand our family and elder focused social work services to many more communities in Massachusetts.
